The great Oscar Wilde says in his beautiful work 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' that "We can forgive a man for making a useful thing as long as he does not admire it. The only excuse for making a useless thing is that one admires it intensely. All art is quite useless." I love to appreciate art, even if I am not the most artistic person myself. If I am not taking pictures or appreciating pictures or the such, I am probably buried in a book, or listening to a record (I mean proper record, somehow there is something very different listening to an original copy of 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' on LP) I also have a keen interest in physics (I want to study physics at university) so I am always reading up on physics, or reading a scientific magazine or just expanding my knowledge of all things physical. I also love Drama (which I suppose could be considered a form of art). I grab any chance I can to act, and I suppose I just really have a passion for it. I enjoy life. It's hard work sometimes, but it's worth it, I believe it can be summed up in the words of Stephen Fry: "There are only a few years on this planet, and I sometimes think, can you imagine what it would be like if there were a St. Peter when you died and he said, 'So, what did you think of Twitter?' and you went 'Oh I never tried it, I thought it was dreadful.' 'Oh... what did you think of Cannabis?' 'Oh I never tried it, I thought it was dreadful.' 'I went to all this fucking trouble to make all these exciting things on the planet and you never tried them!'" He then goes on to quote Arnold Bax, saying 'You should try everything once, except incest and folk dancing.' And that generally sums up my philosophy on life. I am always open to new ideas. Oh yes, and if you would like to request that I take any specific photographs just give me a message. If you have read this, I applaud you for your patience, I hope you have enjoyed my life story, and I shan't take any more of your time. |
